What is Modern Art to me as a Contemporary  Artist

The first thought that pops into my head when I think of What is Modern Art to me,  is: “Thinking outside of the Box”, this phrase represents art without walls. No need of Galleries or Museums: example, Chihuly -Glass in the Gardens.

Then you have the painters of light, sorry I can’t remember their names, then you have the digital  painters.

As a modern painter I place myself as a Modern Traditionalist, I still use some form of paint placed on a canvas or panel to express my thoughts, ideas and because of this I am old school. I find most of these outside of the box artist to live in the dream time, not knowing of the past or the future.  To me they are memory artist, and no, they are not living in the moment.

My work of art is physical, something you can touch, hold, take with you or hang on a wall. It is a piece of me, it is my thoughts and feelings of each changing season, from childhood to death.  It tells the story of the journey of an artist, from Black & White to Color.
