I decided to capture my memories after visiting France, by reinventing the ancient art form called Cloisonné. I rendered many small sections and when connected they made up the figurative shape of the image. I then embedded bright colors in each chamber, then I outlined them with a darker color to define the shape. These paintings are rendered as a modern day Cloisonné techniques.
About the artist
Words always got in my way, a burden born from dyslexia. Painting became the language that made sense. Every piece is made by hand in the studio in Hilo, signed, and packed personally before it ships.
