This Series, “Women of 2011”, was inspired by the way, especially women, reveal themselves through the choice of clothes they wear every day. The women’s silhouettes are made of paper, coated with epoxy resin, and the background is metallic pigments. The collage technique marries abstract with figurative creating depth and layers, giving insight into the diverse qualities we all possess. The personalities exhibited range from romantic, casual, sporty, modern, elegant, and sophisticated personas.
About the artist
Words always got in my way, a burden born from dyslexia. Painting became the language that made sense. Every piece is made by hand in the studio in Hilo, signed, and packed personally before it ships.
